Healthy Update

A while back I mentioned that a friend shared her knowledge of organic foods and I was trying to feed my family better.  There were several choices that didn't work out so well for us.  But one easy change has been dairy.  We are now using only organic milk, and some organic cheese.  There are not many choices for organic cheese and we are big time cheese lovers... so I'm not giving up Havarti with dill because it I can't buy it organic at my local store.

Another easy change was skin products.  I am loving the Yes To Carrots line of skin care products.  Right now I'm using the Yes To Cucumber soothing daily calming moisturizer and soothing daily gentle cleanser.  I can tell that my skin is not as blotchy or dry since I switched from Neutrogena.  I plan to try other products by this line.  You can order online exclusives on their sight.  You save a little doing this verses buying at
Wal Mart or a drug store.  Soothing Daily Calming Moisturizer Image

Not So Good At Blogging/ Healthy Stuff

Since it's been over a year since my last blog entry I guess this means that I am not good at blogging.  I have very good intentions, but I never sit down and do it.  So here goes another attempt.

In my life at the moment I am making changes towards being more healthy.  No that doesn't mean that I will give up cake or butter or cheese.  Instead of doing any giving up I'm trying to add in healthy stuff.  For instance I'm eating more vegetables.  I've discovered that I'm wild about red and yellow bell peppers.  I made a pizza with peppers and feta for supper- of course the little guy and the husband got pepperoni.  They are not thrilled by my more veggie initiative.  This brings me to the point.  Thanks to a dear friend and the Internet I am learning about organic and natural products and trying to integrate those into our lives.  Some switches have been easy.  Others have not worked out so well.  Here's what hasn't worked out so well:

Annie's Homegrown Cocoa & Vanilla Bunnies Cereal

Toms of Maine Fluoride Free Kids Toothpaste in Silly Strawberry

My little guy strongly dislikes the toothpaste.  The cereal he can live with if he has to, but we will keep looking for something better.  I'm sure there's something out there.  More to come about the good things I've found.
